DESI BOYS- Yes, this is the movie we watched last week with our colleagues. Starring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Chitrangda Singh, the movie was a complete package of entertainment. Right from its star cast to storyline to climax, it made for an interesting watch. Every single scene of the movie was packed with so much hilarity that we couldn’t afford to move our eyes from it, even for a second.

And to increase the entertainment quotient, we had the company of our lovely friends and colleagues. It was a welcome change to see the otherwise hard-working and dedicated guys and gals having the time of their lives, while the Desi Boys dazzled the screens with their charismatic persona.

Such a fun-filled evening not only rejuvenated all, but also provided them with enough zest to start their work next morning with new fervor and enthusiasm.

Manisha, Parvinder, Neha, Jaanvi, Karan, Akansha, Gaurav Sharma have pocketed the Star of the Month Award for the month of January for their hard work and sheer dedication. They are the champions of the last month, as they proved to be a step ahead of the rest, in the month of January.

As it was the first award ceremony of 2011, Management of Virka Introduced three new categories of awards, along with the regular ones. These are: the Best Write-Up, Best Link Shared and the Most Enterprising Employee Award.

This is just the beginning to a great year at Virka! Many new surprises are yet to come! So just enjoy your work and keep working hard to excel beyond excellence!

For every organization, be it big or small, its employees are its real assets. And if the employees are truly motivated and optimistic, nothing can beat them. Same is the feeling in minds and hearts of ‘VISIANS’.

Monthly contest EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH-APRIL was celebrated on April 22^nd 2010 at 5 pm. All were having goose bumps in their tummies so as to know, who is going to be the winner this time. Everyone was making guesses until the final names were announced and VP of Virka InfoTech Services handed the prize cheques to the winners.

Navjeet won the Platinum Award, which is for overall excellence: Leadership award was bagged by Ranjeet Singh, who is heading the content writing department, whereas the Gold Award was pocketed by Vijay and the Silver award went to Mohit Kumar.

Last but not the least, Pioneer Award went to Neha Garg and after that everyone enjoyed the feast of snacks, soft drinks and cake.

In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins, not through strength but by perseverance.

The employees to be awarded are selected depending on their performance. Five essential parameters to rate the performance are Quality, Quantity, Initiatives, Discipline and Attendance. Each of these carries four marks and a weekly record of each employee is maintained on this basis. At the end of the month, the marks are totaled and five employees are short-listed to be given the awards according to their marks from 15^th day of the previous month to the same day of that month.

Each award consists of a certificate of appreciation along with some cash-prize.

These awards are as follows:

• Platinum Award: This award is given to the best performer of the month.

• Gold Award: It is given to the second best performer of the month.

• Silver Award: The third best performer gets this prize.

• Leadership Award: This award is given to that team leader who has guided the team members very well based on his/her leadership skills.

• Pioneer Award: This award is given to that person who has given a brilliant suggestion that helped in the growth and improvement of the company.

This month The Employee of the Month event was held on November 18. All the employees were eagerly waiting for the names to be declared. Mr. Amit Arora, the worthy Vice President of the company took the pleasure to distribute the awards. To every one’s surprise Content Writing Department came out to be the overall achiever.

The Platinum award went to Ranjit Singh. Ankur Sharma received the Gold Award while Rahul Deora bagged the Silver Award. Rajdeep Kaur Brar much deservingly got the Leadership Award second time in a row. Further the Pioneer Award went to Ankur Sharma for his brilliant suggestion about Halloween that garnered great results. Thus he made a record of sorts by receiving two awards in the same month. Then we all celebrated the achievement by cutting the cake.

This event is one of the best methods of praising the employees and encouraging them to improve their work. It also helps in maintaining an environment of positive competition where every one tries to give their best.
